Le Moulin de Force History

We are still searching for more information regarding the history of the Moulin de Force.

To date, we have discovered that the Moulin de Force located close to Lentour on the stream of Mayrinhac Lentour is mentioned in local history as early as 1345. Etymologically  "Mayrinhac Lentour" means Intersection.

Other tidbits of information we have found include a dispute from the mid-nineteenth century:

In October 1855 the owner of the Moulin de Force, Mr. Jean Rougie, and Mr. Fabre, owner of a nearby mill "La Roudetie", were accused of being responsible for the appearance of swamps in the area. Both, however, denied that their mills were the cause for the existence of swamps. They accused the town of Lentour as the responsible party.
